|
|
I'm trying to install via setup.exe on Windows 10 x64, but for some reason it fails to find a directory, giving me the message:
Setup was unable to create directory: C\Users\MyUser\Documents\ioncube PHP Encoder
Error 2: System cannot find the file specified
What am I not doing right? It's running with administrative rights, as usual... |

Hi,
That is an unusual licensing folder as normally it would be something like,
C:\Users\Public\Documents\ionCube\PHP Encoder
That is, the second level would be "Public" rather than "MyUser".
It may be best to create a support ticket about this in our Support Help Desk at https://support.ioncube.com
In the ticket please give detailed information about each installation step you are doing. Please also attach a screenshot of Windows Explorer in C:\Users _________________ Alastair

Hi alastair,
All in all I'm unable to even submit the ticket through your Support Desk website as after selecting the priority there's nothing else shown on the form to fill in the details and send it.
These are the default setup parameters that I'm not touching - just doing "Next" until the error message comes up:
Destination location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\ionCube PHP Encoder 10.2.2 Evaluation
Setup type:
Default installation
Selected components:
Full Evaluation Encoder installation
Start Menu folder:
ionCube PHP Encoder 10.2.2 Evaluation |

That is even more unusual since the Evaluation version should not be creating a licensing folder at all.
Please would you forward the email containing the evaluation download link to sales@ioncube.com _________________ Alastair

Hi,
Thanks for forwarding that email.
The evaluation download link does appear to be okay.
Would you please do the following:
1. Clear you browser cache.
2. Download the evaluation encoder again.
3. Extract all the files.
4. Run setup.exe again. Please only do this from the extracted files folder and not directly from the zipped archive. _________________ Alastair

Didn't help much, sent log file to sales@ioncube.com for your convenience.
Managed to get to the end of the setup by manually creating some of the directories. |

Hi,
Do you now have the Evaluation version installed and are you able to encode with it? _________________ Alastair

Hi,
Thanks for sending the log.
The problems shown in the logs seemed to be entirely to do with the example encoding projects. Is that correct? _________________ Alastair

Yes, by the looks of it. But to inexperienced it may mean that whole setup is broken, if they don't know how to run it from command line. |
