Are there any loaders for ARM devices yet? There are now a number of arm systems on the market that run a full linux distribution; raspberry pi being the most popular. |

We've had native and xcompiled raspi builds for quite a few months now. Contact support for the existing pre-4.4 Loaders. raspi will be added to the standard releases later in the year.
As you may know though, there are a great many arm variants, and as one build does not fit all devices, it's impossible to support every possible target out there. But we have custom requirements covered too, just contact support for details. _________________ Community Admin |

Will ionCube support Raspberry PI (ARMv6) only or more ARM architectures ?
I wish ionCube can support BeagleBone Black (ARMv7), too. |

As standard we currently expect only to release Loaders for Raspi, but others may be added in the future if we extend our build procedures for the off-the-shelf Loaders to encompass cross compilers. The production and post-production cost for producing Loaders increases with the numbers of platforms that we support, and this not a one off cost but an ongoing one. While certain platforms clearly have to be supported, there may be no sound business case for supporting platforms that relatively few users will use, and where the ROI may be relatively small or even negative.
We always try to keep doors open though, which is why we offer a custom Loader build service. Subject to certain conditions being met, if we're satisfied that a build can be produced, we can produce one for arbitrary platforms for low cost. We also have other custom services related to our technology, and while these are unlikely to be suitable if targeting the mass market and having to include end users on basic shared hosts, they can be a perfect fit and rather exciting if providing applications that aren't for the general mass market but onto systems where the choice of PHP can be dictated, for example. Sales can provide more details about ionCube Custom Services. _________________ Community Admin |

I just think I can deploy PHP program to ARM device if ionCube Loader support it.
And, BeagleBone Black (ARMv7) has more Linux supports (Ubuntu and Android) than Raspberry Pi.
I agree the ROI is an important factor.
Thank you for your response. |

Our custom Loader build option will cater for your requirements in this case. To proceed with that, simply contact sales at http://ioncu.be/S and we can advise further on requirements for the build, timescales and so on. _________________ Community Admin |

It is. We have several kicking around the office plus cross compilers too, but they don't fit in well with the current build mechanism. We're implementing a new build farm at the moment, and once this is live the Pi will be added to that.
We'll also be releasing MIPS Loaders for the super duper Arduino Yun, which if you don't know it, is a great alternative to the Pi. Lack of real-time ability in the Pi is a real issue for some applications (try driving ws2801's for example, in fact don't as you'll fail miserably), but the Yun with its combination of a MIPS Linux SoC AND an Atmel microcontroller with a trivial to use bridge between the two is a killer pairing for when you need nanosecond precise timing. We tried Loaders on the Yun some months back and they work fine.
There's also a recent Indiegogo project called Vocore
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/vocore-a-coin-sized-linux-computer-with-wifi
Liz Upton did an amazing job of getting the media to latch onto the Pi on the basis that it was the size of a credit card and good for schools (though it was clear that it wasn't); but that's a cumbersome dinosaur compared to the Vocore at the size of a Postage Stamp! We've got a few of those coming, and if they work, we may have Loaders for the Vocore at some point too. _________________ Community Admin |

Well, the thing I like most about the Pi is that it has an Ethernet port.
Too many devices focus on wifi. |

True, but shame the new B+ still doesn't have PoE though. _________________ Community Admin |

Our proprietary build farm system has been up and running for a while now and works great; with a single simple command we can build an SVN project on an arbitrary OS or set of OS's in parallel, and just as easily, you can even do this for an arbitrary directory with code that you just created. In essence we just say "build this on that", without any of the manual pfaffing around of managing VM's, copying code, logging in and out etc. Saves a ton of time, particularly when we're building a codebase on over 20 operating systems!
We did some Raspi builds recently and had issues with the cross compilers, which is odd as ones we'd used in the past had worked, so we ended up getting a PI-2 so we could build natively and delivering those instead. We're wrapping up the 9 release so that we have that plus ioncube24 officially out, and then we'll be looking at this, adding Raspi builds and possibly MIPS ones for platforms such as the VoCore, which is Linux plus WiFi for the size of a typical postage stamp! _________________ Community Admin |

Also looking for ARM v7 support. Was hoping to put my stack on a new Nvidia Jetson Tegra K1 and receiving:
Failed loading /usr/local/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_5.5.so: /usr/local/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_5.5.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory |

Good work on the PHP7 support in the new loader.
I can also see that an armvl 32bit loader has been released.
Raspberry Pi 3 is now support on Debian/et al with the arm64 kernel.
Can you please advise on timeframes or beta support for a loader with arm64 support?
This is definitely the future and Raspbian itself is moving to Debian stretch with a repo setup already. |
