Would WAMP 64-bit work with 32-bit ionCube loader? We have a client using this combination and ran into various issues. One option is to use 32-bit WAMP and 32-bit ionCube loader. But is there a better choice for 64-bit WAMP?

Hi,

As you suggest, the 32-bit version of WAMP should be used. The ionCube Loader for 32-bit PHP on Windows should then work with that. It would be best to use the ionCube Loader Wizard to help install the ionCube Loader once the 32-bit version of WAMP is in place.

There is no 64-bit version of the ionCube Loader on Windows simply because there is no official 64-bit version of PHP on Windows available from http://windows.php.net. Indeed, the version of PHP included in the 64-bit WAMP package appears to be incorrect in that it is doing 32-bit arithmetic.

No, the PHP builds included with WAMP are not the official versions of PHP available from php.net. At present the only official 64-bit build of PHP is that for PHP 5.5 and even that is marked as experimental.

From what we have seen the 64 bit version of PHP included with WAMP actually does 32 bit arithmetic.
