I've installed phpProBid script, and it uses your encoder.
so i'm gettin' an error during installation:

"The file /home/prsumcom/public_html/test/config/settings.php has been encoded with the ionCube PHP Encoder and requires the free ioncube_loader_lin_5.0.so ionCube PHP Loader to be installed."

My hosting provider uses PHP 5 with dl() function disabled due to security reasons:
The dl() function is deprecated as of PHP 5. Use Extension Loading Directives method instead. "

, and uses Zend optimizer encoding. They diclined my request for enabling dl() function, and refused to install IonCube encoder due to double-encoder incompatibility....

They requested for ZEND version compatibility...

Please advise of my actions...
Thank You in Advance!

Hi

There is no incompatibility, and many hosts use ionCube and Zend. They would actually be best to have just ionCube installed as ZO generally causes performance problems by slowing machines down, not making them faster, whereas ionCube encoded files run faster than original source. However, if they need to have ZO installed, then installing the Loader as well isn't a problem. If you still have problems with your host, then a quick search of WHT will find hosts that offer both Zend Optimiser and ionCube.

To help out, in 10 seconds I found these three examples. You might ask your host why these companies are able to offer both, one even also offers SourceGuardian, and yet your host is not able to! Smile

Of course it might be that they're simply lazy, but if it's that they're not sure how to do the installation, or that they have questions, then they just need to ask us and they'll get full support to assist them.

dl() was unfortunately never implemented properly in PHP, with support for module versioning and other concepts being ommitted. Rather than fix it, the view of the PHP group was to "solve" the problem by deprecating it, so that it never needs to get revisited. This doesn't really matter as a php.ini install is always technically possible, however as many systems use dl(), deprecated status or not, it's unlikely to be removed at the moment.
