Hi there. Just downloaded the evaluation version - very impressed with the speed of it. I would like to evaluate the GUI version of the encoder, as this is the final product I expect to be using.

Is the GUI version available for evaluating please?

TIA - Jabez

Sure, please download the Windows version. Please note that the evaluation is of our premier product, the Cerberus Encoder, and the Special Edition GUI, a paid upgrade to the standard GUI.

Thanks for your reply Nick.

Is there an encoder with a GUI for Linux, or is the Linux version only in command-line format?

Hi

Linux is command line only. The GUI is written using a cross platform environment, and so a Unix one would be possible, but really customers are using the Unix version for triggering programatically. Even if you're not and you do want to use it with a Linux desktop, as encoding is a setup once repeat often operation, the best thing is just to create a shell script and then associate an icon with that on the desktop. Of course there are some really cool features of the GUI, and particularly the SE GUI, but command line and a shell script will serve you well too. There is a project called ionCubicle that a customer has been working on (see these forums for details), and that may be of interest.

haha, no, definitely not! Whilst I'm sure that it has its place and that it's good for some applications, we have no interest in Delphi.

We use a system that's possibly been around longer, and which abstracts the native windows tool kits so that with the same code, you can target platforms such as Windows, OSX, Unix (lesstif, motif, Qt, Xt etc. etc.), and be substantially using the widgets of the underlying platform. We won't say what it is, and as that saying goes, will leave that as an exercise for the reader.

The GUI programming language of course is C++.
