Can we expect to get a loader for native M1 (Apple macOS ARM) PHP?
PHP 7.4 would be fine for us.

N.b.: Homebrew already has a nicely working arm64 PHP 7.4 an 8.0 Version (And Apache) for macOS.

We will be looking to provide a Loader for Arm-based Mac OS in due course. However, that is not a priority at present.

Thank you for the information.
For sure, PHP 8 has a higher priority.
Due to the speed of brew providing this, I just expect it to be releatively less effort, but I know the details are the issue.
If you need someone to test, just contact me.

Unfortunately producing a loader for a new platform like that is not as simple as just recompiling.

Hi more than half a year has passed from last post.

Now homebrew work fine with M1.
Your loader is blocking us strongly, has something changed in this topic?

I'd like to add another vote for M1 loaders. Have picked up a Macbook since the new release last month and imagine more developers have also done the same.

Another vote for M1 support, this is a major blocker. I appreciate that it's a large task though.

Damn, I switched to a Mac with M1 chip, and am in the same situation.
While the encoder works fine, I guess through rosetta, I installed PHP via Homebrew and the loader extension does not work as Homebrew installs the arm variant of PHP 7.4

While we wait for a loader for arm architecture, is anyone aware if it is possible to have Homebrew install the x86_64 variant of PHP 7.4 instead? I would be fine with that for the time being...

Thats how you can run ioncube on M1, until we get a M1 version (Hopefully I live long enough for that)

Run all commands (Call to brew install.sh and /usr/local/bin/brew install) prefixed by
Code:

arch -x86_64
arch -x86_64 /usr/local/bin/brew install ...

I'd expect it work with Rosetta. We added M1 hardware a while back with a view to produce M1 Loaders down the line, but more immediately as an R&D tool for some aspects of the major work undertaken for v11, and were surprised at how well the intel based GUI runs on M1. We wouldn't expect major issues adding M1, and we're used to producing bespoke Loaders for clients with architectures outside of our standard set, although sometimes what should be straightforward doesn't end up being the case. so we never know for certain until embarking on the exercise.
