PHP 8 Support?

The first release candidate of PHP 8 has been released last week. Any eta for the PHP 8 loaders? Will they become available this year?

Hi, PHP 8 will be supported through a new Encoder and Loader so it is unlikely that there will be a new Loader produced that will support files produced by PHP 7 encoders on PHP 8. _________________ Alastair ionCube

Just one request here. Please make it backward compatible with older versions of PHP and allow the creation of a tripple encoded file with PHP 5.6/7.1/8 versions in it. It would be also nice if this file would run on current loaders with PHP 5.6/7.x.

As I mentioned, any Loader for PHP8 is unlikely to be backwards compatible. However, bundling will be supported, of course, so you will be able to produce files with 5.6/7.1/8 encoding included in each. _________________ Alastair ionCube

When is the version of ionCube Encoder supporting PHP 8 released? Can you give at least an estimated date? Our decision whether to use PHP 8 depends on the release date of the ionCube Encoder.

Hi, We do not have an actual release date as yet for the version 11 Encoder or for an encoder for PHP 8. However, version 11 should appear in Q1 2021. As I have mentioned previously, there will not be a backwards compatible loader for PHP 8. _________________ Alastair ionCube
