"The necessary zend_extension line could not be found in the configuration."

What does this mean and how do I correct it?

(PS. Getting very frustrated with your installer!)

If you go to the loader test page of the Loader Wizard then you should see a link that will create a ticket in our support help desk automatically. Once you do that then we will be able to assist you further.

Why couldn't you simply post the solution here, instead of requiring the individual to create a support ticket, leaving folks such as myself to have to join your forum to try to get an answer to this very important question?? and thus leaving me and others waiting for an answer while we are trying to get our work done?

@gldneagl

The forum is not the correct venue for end user specific installation issues where installation requirements vary on a per user basis. Posting a link to the wizard (which we need) that exposes customer specific data that should not be public would also hardly be appropriate.

The wording of messages in the Wizard has been very carefully designed to cater both for users with limited to zero knowledge and also for users where English is not their first language, but if a user finds confusion in wording then we would look to making revisions if and where appropriate. There is also a new generation of Wizard on the way that should make things even easier.

Why don't you just post the solution here? It is possible to just show how the zend_extension line has to look in the php.ini. There are no individual information that should be hidden from the public by showing the solution...

@soigroeg

Here you go

Code:
zend_extension = "</path/to>/ioncube_loader_<plat>_<x>.<y>.<ext>"

The items in the < > vary depend on the OS platform, PHP version, and choice of install location. zend_extension will need to be zend_extension_ts if PHP is a thread safe build unless PHP >= 5.3

As a result of the very large number of permutations, which is infinite if you take into account the path, it's best to use the Loader Wizard, or preferably our new automated installer.
