Hi,
have a project which uses git-version control systems storing the files in .git-directory. Have ignored the directory with '--ignore ".git/"' option, but seems the encoder still walks through the ".git"-directory during encoding. This slows down the encoding proceess (takes minutes just to walk through the ".git"-directory).

Is there a way to tell encoder to fully ignore the directory so that the encoding time could be brought back to normal?

Using ionCube Encoder Version 6.5 Enhancement 14.

Ignored directories are scanned because there may be a keep pattern than unignores an item within an ignored item. New options and optimisations related to this are on the cards to be added in a future revision to version 7. If you need further assistance please create a support ticket in our helpdesk (you can use your ionCube member ID/password to login).

One option would be just to ignore the ".git"-directory as it is universally used for git purpose and will not contain any PHP files to be encoded. Also, cannot think any situation where the ".git"-directory would be included in the encoded result (in fact this could only lead to trouble).

Another question related to ionCube versions as I was unable to find direct answer for it. If one needs to support PHP versions 5.1-5.3, can one use ionCube 7 or is the "legacy support" handled by 6.4 version?

4 years ago, I upgraded ionCube Encoder from 7 > 8 > 9.

Is any option to reduce "Ignoring directory .git\*" messages or don't auto expand 'MESSAGES" folder in 'Event Log' ?

Every time I build project, I have to scroll down for checking warnings or errors.

Confused

Not in the UI, but you could export the project as a shell script, use cygwin on your system if you don't already so that you have a decent Unix like shell environment with bash and friends, and then run in a shell script and pipe through grep. To reencode you then just need to type a single command, can process the log however you wish, and have an easier repeat encoding environment than the UI. The Encoder UI is both easy to use and powerful, but for any repeated task on Windows I'd generally recommend automation, leveraging the Unix tools provided by the cygwin environment.
