Hi,

The ioncube_server_data() returned with more than one Mac Address. What should be the command to make license to include more than one Mac address in the Server Restriction license?

I have the following Mac Addresses

{<MAC address1>}
{<MAC address2>}
{<MAC address3>}

make_license --allowed-server {<MAC address1>} <==how to include address2, address3..etc?

Thanks.

I have 2 Mac Addresses to be included with passphrases ABCDEF1.

According to the reply, I just add multiple "--allowed-server" options.

When I run with the following I got an error as follows. Please advise what should be the option. Thank you....

------------

C:\temp>make_license --passphrase ABCDEF1 --allowed-server '{C8:0A:A9:7C:7A:25}' --allowed-server '{4E:0F:6E:6C:41:04}'

Error in server restriction specification. If specifying one or more
server names, an @ may be required to distinguish from IP addresses.
e.g. 1.2.3.4.domain.com,127.0.0.1,foo.com@
Please use --help or see the User Guide PDF for examples of valid syntax.

Hi

I imagine that you solved this, but if not then support should be able to assist if you create a ticket.

Hi there,

No, the problem was not resolved because I'm not sure if the command line syntax and option that I entered are correct. From the error message, it is obvious that it is a syntax issue.

I would appreciate it if you could help to provide the correct syntax.

Thank you.

Not sure if you created a ticket yet, but as you're using Windows you should use double quotes around the server specifications. I'd recommend installing cygwin onto Windows so that you can have all the benefits that using bash brings rather than being stuck with cmd.exe

Hi there,

I have made attempt to create the ticket but it said my support has expired. I have been using Cerberus and I rarely asked for help. I encounter a product issue and I expect to be able to find the answer from the manual. Being a Ioncube's customer, I don't understand why am I asked to create a ticket where I have to pay just to ask for a direct syntax question. And I couldn't find anything mentioned in the manual as what Liaison wrote...

Why can't you just post what is wrong with the following command line as in my previous post?

C:\temp>make_license --passphrase ABCDEF1 --allowed-server '{C8:0A:A9:7C:7A:25}' --allowed-server '{4E:0F:6E:6C:41:04}'

Thank you and your help is very much appreciated.

/Mark

Maybe because support expired Wink During the initial free support period you did create 6 tickets.

If you need more than community support it is recommended to have a support plan for official support. Anyway, the solution was given in the previous reply on April 25th, please look back at that.

Hi,

my support also ended, so I kindly ask here:

If got the same problem with restriction to a MAC

Code:

~/ioncube_encoder5_9.0/make_license_64 --passphrase 'XYZl' -o license.txt --ignore-interface-aliases --expire-on 2018-07-31 --allowed-server '@172.17.0.226{00:01:02:06:DA:5B}'
Error in server restriction specification. If specifying one or more
server names, an @ may be required to distinguish from IP addresses.
e.g. 1.2.3.4.domain.com,127.0.0.1,foo.com@
Please use --help or see the User Guide PDF for examples of valid syntax.

As far as I understand the User Guide, the syntax I used is valid.

I'm not under Windows, I'm using Linux (OpenSuse 42.2 amd64), and it makes no difference if I write single or double quotes...

What am I doing wrong here?

kind regards from Austria,
Eugen
